Q. No. 1 What
are the definitions of continent, ocean and island?

Ans.

(a) Continent: A continent is a large continuous area
of land. Sometimes continents that are connected as a single landmass, such as
Europe and Asia, are considered to be one continent.

(b) Ocean: Oceans are the largest bodies of water
on Earth. They are all connected and cover most of the Earth’s surface.

(c) Island: An island is a piece of land that is
surrounded by water on all sides. Continents are also surrounded by water but
because they are so large they are not considered islands.
